There is a checksum at the site, I'm not sure how to apply it.

I don't have much experience with this, but I wanted to clarify: 715766 KB 
is 699 MB, you need to divide KB by 1024 to get MB, not 1000. Is there an 
md5 sum associated with your download? You might be able to verify whether 
the iso is bad or your setup.
