You can also go down to about 4x4 inches with and PC/104 CPU board. There are now a wide range of single 4x4 or 4x6 inch boards with audio including Pentiums, Geodes, Crusoe, etc. They are selling for as low as $350 (with processor, without RAM). The lower power units tend to cost more.
