On my pentium4 2.4GHz it took about just over an hour to do the podcast on installing GRML (I trimmed out some of the waiting time from the podcast itself, hence that is why my podcast was shorter than an hour). If you could report the issue to the GRML mailing list with more details (eg. version of GRML,system specs, any relevant log files (you may need to ask on the GRML list for details of which log files would be relevant), etc) I am sure someone will try and help find out the cause.
