When I got the point of choosing packages, I selected the customise option where I think I should have gone for desktop machine. I do not think anything was installed as I was a bit baffled with the info. So, should I now start again and reinstall or try and get some packages with apt? Also, was not sure what I should have done with the mail choice that followed. I get mail currently via pop and send with smtp. I usean adsl rooter connected to the network card which I believe the install detected. I would now like to try some simple tasks like email to get used to speakup and the directory and file structure of debian. A bit of help on this would be good. Many thanks.
