The Syqyest drives are connected via the parallel port, not an IDE connector. You need to recompile your kernel with "paride" included in the kernel or as a module. For the SparQ drive you'll also need support for the "epat" and "pd" protocols. See the documentation at: http://www.torque.net/parport/paride.html You'll find step-by-step instructions there.
