It's nice to know that it's not worth the extra cost for some books and stuff that I would have no use for, seeing I have no scanner to scan them with anyways. I know linux for dummies didn't tell me much more than I knewalready besides x-windows and a list of compatible hardware, which may help if I consider getting a machine to have only linux on. I think the basic deal is to stay away from winmodems and hardware that's too old or new.
