Talking GDM seems only to work the first time you access it. I do not auto start the GUI on boot, preferring the additional control over all those numerous issues that can break boots. Rather, I use systemctl start gdm To kick off my GUI when I need it. So, I now get speech the first time I do this. But, if for some reason, I need to bring down the GUI and restart it, I do NOT get talking GDM on the second time, and on any successive times through GDM. I can still login, and Orca speaks, but no speech on GDM after the first round. Wonder what that's all about? Janina
