Subject: smooth upgrade to kernel 2.6.37 with speakup on arch
Date: Sun, 30 Jan 2011 18:36:45 -0500 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <20110130233645.GA1796@rx.localhost> (raw)
Hi people,
That was smooth as silk. It turns out that removing the old speakup
package did not silence speech output, so doing that before the actual
upgrade was possible, and also necessary, since pacman wouldn't install
the new kernel while the old speakup was still there.
No issues so far, but my uptime is now only 4 minutes and 6 seconds.
Chuck
