What kind of issues are you thinking of? I'll admit that in the case of windows guests, I only used wineyes over rdp, but it worked very well. In the case of gnu/linux guests, in the days before espeakup, using speech-dispatcher/speechd-up/espeak over rdp did very nicely too. It was actually kind of funny in a way to be sitting in front of a windows machine, and hearing espeak, while using speakup's navigation commands to read the screen. I can't speak for GNU/Linux rdp clients, since I never tried any.
