I stand to be corrected, but I believe the cable that fs provides is a
straight-through cable. Appendix c of the bns2000 manual states that the
bns is a dce device. A pc is a dte device, as far as I know. So, if you want to connect the
bns to a pc to serve as a synth, you don't need a null modem
adapter. In fact, I have my bns connected to my pc right now, and I'm
certainly not using a null modem cable to do so, which means that the
cable fs provides is already made as a null modem, to interface to the
pc, or that it is a straight-through cable. 

As for your local computer store having these, I asked at compusa
about 3 years ago if they had the old din connector style mac cables,
and they said they stopped carrying those a while ago, so good luck
finding one locally.
