Hi Marcel,
yes, unfortunately, speakup is not compatible with kernels newer than
2.6.21, so it has been dropped from gentoo after release 2007.0.
I've never done a networkless install, but if you go to the link I
supplied below, one of the handbooks there is for doing this and should
point you the right direction. Let me know if you have any questions.
