I haven't setup wireless cards, so can't help you there. Since I believe you have a wireless nic, and a physical rj45 nic, the system is probably bringing up your physical card as eth1, so try using that instead. Ultimately, good old dmesg will tell you what's what, though I can see why you wouldn't want to have a sighted person reading that to you, though you could save the output to a file, and look at it yourself under windows.
