I'm not sure you need to include both text and html, since you can 
easily generate a text file from an html one. 

On the matter of tables, edbrowse does ;a fantastic job with them, 
putting each row of a table on the same line, with vertical bars 
separating the elements. No ambiguity about empty cells.
