My PC speaker beeps rather quietly, but I thought something was funny when I was not only back spacing but I think I was hearing beeps when I was using the left and right arrow keys in a vi edit session. Was something added or is there a buggy some place? I guess unloading the speaker solves it immediately but then you don't have ths system beep available when you might otherwise want it. Also, I think for clarification the beeping heard sounds much the same as when you wrap to a new line in case that helps debugging.
