There is no Speakup Modified Fc4, therefore no speech support during installation of FC4--and, as ytou note, not speech from an FC4 installation until such time as you upgrade the kernel to a Speakup Modified kernel. Obviously, blind users are unlikely to install without speech support, hence the notion of using telnet as per my previous message. doc writes: > Does this mean that if I do this upgrade I will have no speech until I > upgrade the kernal? > I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it > robert Doc Wright > http://www.wrightplaceinc.net > msn > godfearer15@hotmail.com > > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Janina Sajka" > To: "Speakup is a screen review system for Linux." > Sent: Saturday, October 22, 2005 8:10 AM > Subject: Re: installing fc4 > > > > No. You can choose to do an upgrade rather than a new install, but this > > is a choice you make during the installation of FC4, and we still do not > > have Speakup Modified FC4 installation images. > > > > To install FC4 you must do something like use telnet for the > > installation: > > > > https://www.redhat.com/archives/blinux-list/2005-August/msg00038.html > > > > Once FC4 is installed, Speakup Modified kernel rpms are available. > > > > doc writes: > > > I see people talking about fc4 while I'm downloading fc3.
