I explained it in my first post. And, I'm not interested in a debate about it. My only interest is to stop irrelevant speculation which only serves to confuse people. The reason I care about that is that I am still the maintainer of the Speakup Modified Installation HOWTO which means that I get to clean up all the mess such idle speculation throws up on these lists. Let me reiterate for you. The FC4 kernel, as shipped by Fedora, is substantively the same as 2.6.12. It is not 2.6.12. It is a 2.6.11 kernel with many of the patches introduced for 2.6.12 back ported. That's all I'm going to say. If you want more, go Google.
