Keep in mind I'm on a slow dial-up line... but I don't think that has to do with it. Anyway, the problem is that, after playing the audio stream for about a minute (regardless of whether the cache size is at the default of 64KB or 256 KB) the stream stops and starts about every two seconds, mpg123 says "cannot rewind stream by xxx bits," and alsa starts shouting about xruns of all at least 2000 miliseconds. Oss doesn't care, but mpg123 still gives me the "cannot rewind" errors. Any suggestions? Thanks.
