to put jaws in a higher priority,
I know for windows xp how to do it... not sure about other windows versions.

for windows xp:

in a dos prompt (start menu, run ... and type cmd)

then type the command:
start /realtime C:\jaws450\jfw.exe

/realtime can also be /high

and change the C:\jaws450\jfw.exe to the path to your own jfw.exe


remember that 'start' is a built in command in to cmd, so if you wanted to
make a shortcut to start jfw, you would have to have the shortcut execute
the following command:
C:\windows\system32\cmd.exe start /realtime C:\jaws450\jfw.exe

Actually, you may need a /c after cmd.exe perhaps... can't remember.

/realtime is good, but... on some systems (especially ones with sblives in
them sceeme to make eloquence very crackly).

I am not sure at all how command.com handles all this.

In regards to mutt reading with jaws...

If you are interested, I have written some jaws scripts for teraterm pro
that sort of emulate the speakup cursor.

So you only have to press one key to move the speakup cursor, instead of
having to route jaws to pc and then move.

My scripts use the Jaws invisible cursor.

I am currently also working on the scripts so that in a debian install (over
a serial connection) they do properly track those silly yes/no buttons (that
don't track at all well).

Oh, and also another hint for using teraterm pro:
*set cursor to Horizontal
*disable the title bar
*disable the scrole buffer

(This will make jaws and teraterm interact the best, and also it will be
more like using a terminal because it reaches the whole length of the
screen, instead of always hereing crap like:
