But I did killall, and now it stops on boot-up, with some kind of message I'll have to remember it and look it up. I think it was 3 letters and a colon. But I press enter, and then I get to the login prompt. So I uninstalled vsftpd, and I still have the same problem during boot-up. This is where the boot scripts are stored. If you can't find them there, have a look in /etc/rc.d.
