First of all, there is a lot more to learn in CS than there was even 10
years ago.  There is only so much that can be fit in into a four year
degree.  Since Java is a heavily used language, it is tought.  So is C/C++
in Unix and Windows, but most students are tought on the Windows platform
first because the professors can focus on programming rather than teaching
an OS that students aren't familiar with.  I'm not even going to get into
the debate about whether Windows or Unix is better because its pointless.  I
use both and find that each has something to offer.  Perhaps when we've gone
byond the bickering, we can come together and make something that is better
than either.

Second, what was your code quality like when you first started programming?
I'd bet it was horse sh*t.  But, for some reason, you seem to be the one
claiming to know everything.  I'm just trying to learn using the resources
available to me.

Just wait until you loose your job and find that you have to relearn
everything from the ground up.  My dad has been a programmer for 20 years.
He started on mainframes, then worked with the really big stuff at Cray,
then got canned and had to start over learning Java for his new job doing
web stuff.  So, get off your high horse and come down to the ground with the
rest of us.  Perhaps when we get past this we can actually move onto
something constructive.

Also, read your mail before you post.  You appear to actually know what is
going on that way...
