Hi all thinks to those of you that suggested that I try typing the address for the speakup ftp site correctly for a start, and also thanks for reminding me about putting the ftp client in to binary mode..
I've now got the color.gz file and am well on my way to starting an installation of linux. I'll hopefully soon have the box I intend to run it on as well as the slackware software..
Thanks again all..
Good help is so hard to find isn't it?
Shaun..
