I didn't need IDE-SCSI emulation to get my USB flash-based MP3 player to
show up. I just compiled the USB mass-storage driver as a module, and when
I plug it in, it shows up. Check the output of "dmesg" and
/var/log/messages for clues. If the drive is recognized, it will list the
manufacturer and what device it is attached to.
