Well done that sounds great. I might have a go at that myself.
The lfs livecd developers have suggested I use a debian script. However, there some sound cards that it will not affect automatically upon boot.

I don't even know what lfs is. I made my bootable CD by installing debian on
a 790 Mb partition and then
running bootcdwrite.
So I guess I'm dealing with sound the same way debian does it. I've tried my
live CD on 4 machines and got speech on 3 of them. All 4 machines had
integrated sound cards.
