Hi you can use the dectalk express using the serial port with no problem
it should work as an express using what ever screen reader you use.

Subject: Ot: DecTalk USB?
Greetings,
I have a very basic dectalk USB question, I am not sure if i am going
to
get this, but I am having trouble finding a dectalk express, and
understand the USB unit can be used with a 9-pin port?
I have no USB port, so must be firm on this before seeking one. I might
add that I am not using windows either so again want to be sure it
is still just a text to speech device controlled by one's respective
program.
Thanks,
Karen
