If I were you, I would just wait and reinstall from scratch once fedora core 4 is ready with speakup. The kernel you should use is the i586 or you can use the i686, either one would work, I usually use the i586 ones even though I have a 1.9ghz processer and it works just fine but sense I crashed my system I am just going to wait on fedora core 4 and reformat and reinstall the system. bye My web page is at http://www.nickgawronski.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "Murthy T S N" To: Sent: Friday, July 08, 2005 12:40 AM Subject: Question about Kernel. > Dear Friends, > I installed fedora core2 at my home which was not speak modified. > Later I came to know that to make it speakup enabled I need to install a > speakup modified kernel. > When I browsed the link which is given below > http://www.linux-speakup.org/ftp/disks/fedora/2/RPMS > I was given a number of Kernels. > I am giving my Pc's configuration. > Intel P4 processor with 2.56 ghz speed and 256 MB of Ram. > You are requested to go through the site and suggest me an apt kernel. > Please revert back if any clarification is required. > I am very new to linux and have no proper idea about kernel etc. > Hope to here from you. > Satyanarayana Murthy Tanikella > Developer (TCOE Production Support ( Dendrite )) > Tel: +91 80 55231500 x1730 > Fax: +91-80- 55231800 > Email: Satya.Murthy@dendrite.loc > > > > > > > _______________________________________________ > Speakup mailing list > Speakup@braille.uwo.ca > http://speech.braille.uwo.ca/mailman/listinfo/speakup >
