I downloaded the slackware64 14.1 iso.. I added it to slackware, powered on the virtual machine and at the boot: prompt, I typed Huge speakup.synth=ltlk There was no speech I also tried Linux speakup.synth=ltlk Hugesmp speakup.synth=ltlk Speakup.s speakup.synth=ltlk All with no result. I am using a doubletalk LT. The serial port is setup in vmware as com1 And after the DVD boots in slackware, I can echo text to /dev/ttyS0 and the doubletalk speaks it.. What is the correct command to enter at the boot prompt? Does slackware current fix hardware synth problems? If so, is there an iso of slackware current? Thanks, Ryan
