Hi saqib: I am not sure which disks you are using to install speakup
but a couple of things you could try is use speakup_ser=0 on the boot
kernel command line. That will tell speakup exactly where the synth
is. I have seen this sort of thing happen also when writing floppies
with rawrite if the synth under dos is left talking. Rawrite is a
very timing dependant program.
