One or the other, not both please. There are many free operating systems that run X of some form. There is no good technical reason for a X screen reader to be Linux dependent, so I don't think it is a good idea to introduce unnecessary non-portable features. I understand some people's desire to have a console mode screen reader and agree that this might have to be Linux dependent. Either one of these goals would be reasonable, but not both in the same product.
