Hi folks,
Anyone successfully using calibre in a Linux environment?
granted the program was created for Linux in the first place, but i
respect that does not automatically equal speech of quality.
Which brings up a different question.
best sounding speech on an e-reader these days?
The machines themselves, not an app for another machine.
Thanks,
Karen

Hi Karen,
I have used Calibre for many years on both Mac and Linux (Fedora, RedHat, Centos).
Soundbooks I hav used an Amazon Kindle. For ebooks sound has been on Espeak. It is possible to set pitch and all that.
Regards,
Birdie

How do you make Calibre to speak ? When I need to read an epub I'm using
the command-line of calibre called ebook-convert to convert the book to
txt or PDF format or I use a Firefox extension called epubreader.
Best regards,
Alex.
