What's Wrong With This Page?

Hello,
One of the pages on my Web site works with EI but not with Lynx. Please 
tell me what the problem is with http://www.chpi.org/gbuserref.html . The 
first link on the page skips the table of contents and goes to the 
Introduction on the same page. Or rather, that's what it's supposed to do. 
Instead, it skips to "post to gnomebrl". I've tried putting the target 
link inside the header, including the header after the URL, etc. Lynx 
always behaves the same. I've used Lynx or other pages with a similar 
arrangement, and it works. What's wrong with this one?

The url at the bottom of the page when i'm on the intro link has a pound sign
before the word intro. should this be there? None of your other links that I can
see have a pound sign.

It's working fine. You're being misled by the fact that cursor tracking is
putting the braille display on the link rather than at the top of the screen.

Oh thats easy.  It actually works the way it should.
It skips to the Introduction header, if you look closer, you'll
see that the first line of your lynx window is the introduction heading.
The reason why you say it skips to post to gnomebrl is:
post to gnomebrl is the first link after introduction heading.
So that is where lynx sets the cursor.

To fix this, you'd need to make the introduction header a link,
but this doesnt make sense, I mean, where would it go to.

Summary: Your page behaves exactly as it should, the user was the problem :)

Nothing is wrong with the page. In lynx i followd
the Introduction link  and was taken to  the introduction page. However it is
also true that lynx placed my cursor on the post  link you mentioned and
my screen reader read that link.  I had to refresh the screen
to hear the text of the introduction.

i don't find much wrong with it
i don't think you need the </a> in this line:
<a name="intro"></a><h2 align="center">Introduction</h2>
but lynx is putting the cursor on the next link which happens to be on the
same page as the introduction

Dave is absolutely right; the link is working fine.
II was tricked by the cursor tracking also.
