It is a purely graphical environment. However, the Gnome project is developing Gnopernicus, which is a screen reader giving both Braille and speech access. Gnome is built on top of x-window. I am using Linux exclusively in my work. The only adaptive technology I use is a Braille display and the BRLTTY screenreader.
