I'm aware that it now exceeds the length permitted on this list, so I'm providing the direct URL below for anyone else who might want to read our document: http://www.linux-speakup.org/ftp/disks/redhat/HOWTO_INSTALL.html We are continuing to revise this document in order to better reflect several new circumstances and opportunities arising out of the recent new release from Red Hat, namely version 7.3, Valhalla. Some of the news is good--such as the Speakup keymap files being incorporated into the standard Red Hat console tools. Some of the news isn't so good, such as the cursoring problem which appears to come from the new newt library. We are of course working on all of these fronts--to resolve the issues fully, and to document all opportunities thoroughly. You should expect this document to become stable again in about a week. We cordially invite anyone considering Linux for the first time to read this document. We take pains to provide guidance and links to further reading for the new and prospective Linux user who is blind.
