Is the driver for your ethernet card loaded? If not, you'll need to add it to /etc/modules.conf. If you have to add it, don't forget to do: depmod -a Then, load your card with modprobe. Next, are the settings for eth0 correct? Look at /etc/sysconfig/network and /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0.
