			list,

I've been on the linux speakup website and was looking at downloading the
rest of the redhat installation iso images but there only appears to be two
of them when I wass reading in one of the read me files that there is three
installation cd's and one documentation cd, but on the website there are
only 2 cd's and the documentation cd, can someone tell me if this is
correct or if there is a file missing?

also is there a copy of the how to install redhat linux document, that
isn't on line, that I can just read from my pc?

thansk

simon

Hi:
Concentrate my Friend. :-) I just visited the place and everything is
in order:

ftp.linux-speakup.org/pub/linux/speakup/disks/redhat/7.3

Do you have any of the synthesisers supported by speakup?

Hope it helps,
Pawel.

welll that's what I'm probably missing because I'm on the http site, not
the ftp site.and for some reason I'm losing transfer data speed so it's
taking a while.

but as for the other question the synthasizer yes If I'm correct the
dectalk express standalone synth works with linux.

but just one question how many disks are there in the 7.3 set, if that is
what I'm downloading from the http linux-speakup site, then I'm downloading
disk 2, but already have disks 1 & 3, plus what said was disk 5, but can't
find reference to disk 4. anyone got suggestions/ info on this?

thanks

Hi

Well 492 gave me a choice of 7 iso images to download. But having said
which you only need the first one for the speakup elements. You could
always download from the others from one of the hundreds of Redhat
mirrors.

If you are using lynx and have numbers turned on just type lynx
http://linux-speakup.org then press 4 and then return, 9 return and then
2 return. You should now be on a page of more than 2 images of the
current version. Perhaps you wanted a different version? Perhaps you
should raise the issues on the speakup list rather than making vague
misleading statements about your findings.

Are you sure you're looking at the current page, or are you
looking at a chached image? Have your browser reload the page
from the net. All the iso images required for 7.3 have been
available for an entire week now.

Here's the iso image download page as it appears in my lynx right
now:

I'm thinking I may have been on a different page to the 7.3 page, but I've
just got up and have found that the download crashed half way throgh, so 'l
go back in using an ftp client and see what I can find that way from the
address given to me yesterday.

thanks

Whether you're using an http or an ftp protocol, it is important
to use an agent capable of resuming an aborted download. Our
HOWTO advises this point very clearly.

I would if I could get it to go, but for some reason it's not working.

I'm using a windows environment at the moment, and will be till have this
linux thing sorted out and know what I'm doing.

i've just been back on the site and hada look at the web address that I was
on, and it's as follows.

http://www.linux-speakup.org/ftp/disks/redhat/cdroms.html

if this is not the correct address then I can't see the right one there.

but can use the ftp site that I was given it seems to work fine.

The ftp address is somewhat different.

Open an anonymous ftp session to:

	linux-speakup.org

Then, cd to:

	pub/speakup/disks/redhat

Now, you should still use a user agent that supports resuming an
aborted download. CuteFTP for Windows will do this, and so will
ncftp. You can get the latter at:

	www.ncftp.org

I found the problem

at the address I gave before, there is only cd 1 &2 & docs, but if you go
into the how to link, there is links to download cd's 1,2,3 & docs as well
as the source code disks.

so I'm taking it the files at the links under cdroms address are the same
as the ones on the ftp and how to links then there is no prblem.

I'm sorry, this is not correct. I showed you the contents of
http://www.linux-speakup.org/ftp/disks/redhat/cdroms.html earlier
today. Reload your cached document.
