changing lynx.cfg hasn't helped me

Okay, I've tried changing the two NO_REFERER
lines both to  TRUE and both to FALSE; still got the same error when I tried to
download.
Am I still overlooking something?

You're right! I'd just tried the first book on the demo page, i.e. Little Lord
Fauntleroy, and it works. I've now went further down and tried both the text
and the HTML versions of Julius Caesar ... neither works. Perhaps I should
engage BookShare's webmaster in a technical discussion as I do believe it
should work, and as, based on the answer from him which you forwarded, I do
believe that he, given enough technical information, might be willing to help
resolve the problem.

Yes, Dave, I think that is a good idea. I did let him know that I am trying the
change in the NO_REFERER lines, but haven't yet let him know that it didn't
help; wanted to wait to make sure somebody didn't point out something I'd
missed.
It does bother me, however, that given he thought he had information about this,
there is nothing on the site, at least that i have found, explaining what needs
to be done--even though it apparently turns out not to work.

I think it best to always give people the benefit of the doubt. He may have
implemented a theory, taking into account what he thought was good advice,
while not having had the ability to test it. Where they're really at will
become evident as users approach them with evidence that it doesn't work.

Hi Dave and all.
The thing is; we're not talking about an individual here; we're talking about a
group of people supposedly setting up an accessible website. And I happen to
know that I'm not the first person, by any means, who has brought this problem
to their attention.
I think that under those circumstances the response was very lacking.
