This is the correct syntax. aumix works with percentages, though, so giving it
100 should set the bass to its maximum level. Try using a number less than 100.

This is a very strange result as it's definitely not reporting a percentage.
Perhaps you're using the wrong driver for your soundcard. In any event, I still
suggest first trying a number less than 100, e.g. 50.
