I have read the brltty manual but because I am still at the teaching myself
before trying to use Linux stage I would like to hear from brltty users on
the products they use for text editing, e-mail, web browsing, cd burning, cd
playing, spell checking, audio recording from say turn table in to PC for
burning to cd,
the brltty manual mentions problems with cursor routing with two programs
that is the vi editor and links e-mail
I would like someone to e-mail me the document link or the document that
would be installed when a person installed brltty with an abt340 that is the
document that brltty would generate the file for the brltty alva abt340
driver.
I ask this because in the brltty manual there are a list of commands and
because I am new to Linux concepts I am trying to work out if these would be
typed at a shell prompt once the brltty programme is up and running. Does
this also mean that brltty uses one of the consol? sorry for being so thick
with Linux.
thanks for the help in advance. no hurry I still reading trying to teach
myself bash commands and scripts etc.

No, that's not quite what BRLTTY's manual is saying. It's saying, rather, that
BRLTTY handles cursor routing in a special way in order to account for the fact
that vi and lynx move the cursor somewhat unpredictably in response to arrow
key presses. BRLTTY's cursor routing, because of the special algorithm it uses,
actually works quite well with these applications.

BRLTTY doesn't use its own virtual console. It runs as a background process
(daemon) and presents whatever is on the current virtual console.
