I have been working on version 2.0 of the Text-Mode RealMedia Player
(TRPlayer), and TRPlayer 2.0 beta 1 is now available. You can get it from
the TRPlayer home page, which is at:

http://www.linux-speakup.org/trplayer.html

Changes since TRPlayer 1.1.5:

- TRPlayer can now display a continuously updated status line. This
feature is most useful for sighted people and users of Braille displays.
- TRPlayer can now read commands from standard input, regardless of
whether standard input is a terminal. Emacspeak 13.0 takes advantage of
this feature.
- The documentation has been rewritten in the GNU Texinfo format.

Changes of interest to developers:

- TRPlayer now uses an Autoconf and Automake to standardize the
compilation process and improve portability to Unix platforms besides
Linux.
- The code now follows the GNU coding style.

What needs to be done before the final release:

- Implement presets so that the user can quickly start a favorite stream
or resume listening in the middle of a stream.
- Possibly implement sound card mixer control, as in the standard
RealPlayer.

if necessary on a truestream file or broadcast? (liek realplayer G2 does).
