This thread seems become on of these advocacy mutants. Some thoughts concerning the discussion: Linux users should be willing to invest some intelligence, creativity and will to explore this fine powerful OS. It is a good idea to first try to resolve upcoming problems without the help of others. It is a really rewarding feeling to find a solution by oneself. Much better than to find the answer in the mailbox after posting a question. And in solving a problem you are LEARNING, you are getting better in finding solutions and you have MORE FUN. "The way is the goal". Posting a question without looking into the subject (or the script file), trying to understand it, is not fair and might let you look as someone, who is quite dependent on others. Use all the tools you have available. It's not the worst idea to RTFM (Read The F*ck*ng Manuals) and the READMEs too. People have written these files with affection. Lets give them satisfaction. Often the answer for an upcoming question is sitting somewhere, waiting to get picked up by you. Using a search engine like http://dejanews.com might deliver the answer even faster than the fastest mailing list. When discussing personal preferences concerning operating systems (a discussion which will go on until Doomsday, because every individual has different needs and a different taste) please use an adequate *.advocacy newsgroup or email. And finally don't forget: There are better reasons to kill for than a dispute caused by operating systems (What's about football?) Enjoy!
