Hi,

This has been asked I think but noone replyed to the list as far as I
remember.

I have installed rap which is a realXXXwhatever wrapper for text consoles.
My Xvfb starts and RVplayer starts as well because it create its
configuration file. However it doesn't seem to receive audio data
correctly. I start with rap file.ra for example to play a realAudio file
and then rap says that it waits for realaudio data to be received. It
simply stays there. When I run ps I can see that both Xvfb and rvplayer
have status S. This is natural for Xvfb I guess but probably not for
rvplayer. Does anyone have any idea why no audio data is received? No
documentation for RealXXXwhatever seems to exist.

Thanks in advance!

Fredrik

I experienced a similar problem trying to get this type of setup working a
couple of months ago and was unable to solve it.

I could only think it was aa problem with my sound card and the kernel
sound drivers. Although I can play other sound files using bplay.

My soundcard is of the MAD16 variety.
My kernel version is 2.0.30 and the kernel is compiled using the options
for a MAD 16 card.

If anyone out there can crack this one it would
be wonderful.

Jim

Hi

I also had a few problems getting it to work, however I can't remember
exactly what. Try editing the rap script, and remove the >/dev/null (but
not the &) from the line which starts Xvfb. You will then be able to sea
errors. I think I had to install some fonts or something to get it to
work.

Regards
