How do I use kgcc? Any > suggestions? The problem is that Redhat 7.0 is shipped with gcc 2.96. The linux kernel doesn't compile correctly with this version of gcc. Hence, you need an older version of gcc/binutils (preferably gcc 2.95.x). I do not know if this is available with the compat-egcs-blabla packages. I compiled 2.95.2 and binutils with the distributed RH7 gcc/binutils packages, installed them in /usr/local, removed the RH7 gcc/binutils packages and compiled the kernel. A bit of a hassle. I only needed 2.95 for the kernel, so I tossed it away after the succesfull compile, install and reboot. Good luck, xander
