of my reading of dec's manual for the dectalk that were sent to me by other users
of the blinux list.
Since i don't have the dectalk i didnt have any way to verify if the settings
were correct or not.
With the last relase i got reports from dectalk users with changes to the
settings i had in there, and apparently these synth commands tend to change
according to the model and version of the device people have.
The reason i built svlpro the way i did was to allow a user to fiddle with
the .ini files and be able to correct improper settings and such.
because people are using the dtpc module i read thru that code to see what
was going on in order to make svlpro work with it.
The fact that people are getting speech at all is a plus , and i think its
safe to say that getting perfect speech thru the dectalk as i do with my cheapo
echo synth is academic at this point.
As I have indicated before i am working on an external driver which i hope
to build support for all of svlpro's supported synths, both internal and serial
devices, and will probably move alot
of what svlpro is handling now, over to that program .
this will also ensure that security issues wont be anything to worry about
since the driver program will handle anything requiring root priviledges and
can be started when the system boots.
I will re-read the dectalk docs and examine the .ini files to check for
accuracy and see what may be necessary to get dectalk yapping with svlpro.
Thanks for the prompt reports, and good luck
regards, brett barback

Thanks. I wouldn't know why the commands are different but I'll search
through my commands file that came with my dos install and see if I can
find any errors in the .ini files.
