I found it at a sunsite mirror the address is

ftp ftp.rge.com

the directory I think is

/pub/systems/linux/sunsite/apps/comm

but don't quote me on that your best bet is to get the index at the
sunsite and search for screen. There is two programs that do the same
thing Iscreen is a version of screen that doesn't need elf where as screen
3.71 needs elf to compile.

Hi, all, again:

Has anyone tried to compile screen version 3.7.1 under linux?

What about modem voice support?

Hi there.
Screen 3.7.1 builds fine under linux.
However there is a problem with bash as distributed with some versions of
slackware.
If screen's configure process dies with the error
configure: no tgetent no screen
Then it means you are running a broken version of bash and should upgrade.
Latest release is bash-1.14.7 from
ftp://prep.ai.mit.edu/pub/gnu/bash-1.14.7.tar.gz
This also fixes a number of security holes in older versions of bash.
Regards
Aaron

Yes, I have successfully compiled screen-3.7.2 last week, and it worked
just fine. What trouble are you having?

In case anyone is interested...
Beta versions of screen are available with support for braille terminals,
as well as all the existing nifty features of screen.
Check them out in ftp://ftp.uni-erlangen.de/pub/utilities/screen/braille
Latest is 3.8.4 I believe screen-3.8.4.tar.gz
Though its been a week or so since I checked.

As soon as I get back on my other machine, I'll send the address from
where I got the program.

Btw, I'm writing this from a terminal (myna palmtop computer, running the
commo com program, the ibm screenreader, and the dectalk), which is
running the kermit program on my linux system, congrats to my self for
getting it working!:)

You can find screen-3.7.2.tar.gz (renamed because of being on a dos
partition) at softcon.com in the /linux directory. Filename screen37.tgz.
Hope that helps.
