Hi Daryl, verizon does not use static ip addresses, it's all dynamically
assigned ip addresses. Even so, thanks for the warning. I had closed
lots of doors in setup then tried getting out on the internet. My zoom
modem only produced static when I tried with it and my dsl modem kept on
getting timeouts so I completely reinstalled linux so it's out of box
settings then I'll experiment with closing doors once the dsl is working
and see which door breaks it.
