these posts have been very interesting however, I don't think that
any blind person will be able to afford the Papenmeir in Australia the
government does not promote the use of braile devices and nor do the
blindness agancies that advicadvise on equipment to be purchased. I use
braille and speech speech for quick reading braille for editing. i find it
more accurate and use grade 0 American computer braile. I mostly want one
of these devices to be able to silently read material while on the moove and
also to be able to read the bible in church etc. I think we might be well
surved by looking at the braille note from pulsedata it has an e-book reader
something the Papenmeir does not yet have as I read about it.
there is a company called robatron which is based in South australia
and rumours have it that they make braile cells and that hey sold a lot of
these to some company so lets keep a look out for price reductions. I know
for a fact that Robatron sold braille cells to some company so I for one am
going to weight
finally I need braile and speech in the same device

Is there anything much out besides the braille note and braille 'n speak
type products? I heard of braille mate, has 1 cell of braille, kind of
silly, but it's there. Before the braille note, blazie was the only thing I
knew of besides the braille mate.

the braille note does not justify getting it just because it runs an
"ebook reader". I think the pappenmeir solution is the way to go here
even though it may be pricy. Robotron:
http://www.sensorytools.com
has some interesting products and yes, they have a cell and feature it
in a braille calculator but it too is pricy.

Are the milleniumm series ones available in voice only models, heard not
any more.
I like the idea of the email features and the like, although braille note
seems to have more.

Hi.
the mellennium have both speech and braille, and for the 40 cell model,
cost as much or a little more than the elba.
and uses a 33mhz processor.

You sure that was supposed to be a "33" MHZ processor? When will these
people figure out that those things are quite useless for anything modern?
Oh, I guess I just answered my own question.
