I have an external cd-rom drive which I want to attach to my toshiba
laptop through the parallel port.
What do I need to do to make this work?
I can't even get it working with DOS, is there any reason that you
could think of for that?
I guess the drivers could be written for windows only couldn't they?
But it doesn't look like it from what I can tell.
I have two floppy diskettes one has cd-rom drivers on it, the other
is something called a Magic-eye converter, for enabling the parallel
port I am told.
I need the cd-rom operational so that I can install Linux from it, I
don't have WWW access yet you see so cannot download it from anywhere.
When I do get it installed, how do I learn emacs? And how do I get
hold of Emacspeak? It don't suppose it comes on the cd's does it?
Thanks heaps for any help you can supply!
