Hello!
Are there any screenreaders for Frebsd?
Or is the only way to install it via a hardware braillex 2d-screen?
/Anders.

1. You are confusing two different topics: There are screen readers
for FreeBSD, but this does not automatically mean that you
can do a fresh install of the Operating System
using that screen reader. Remember Windows, there are
actually several screen readers for Windows,
but you are still not able to install a new Windows System
with the help of just such a product.
2. Yes, there are screen readers for FreeBSD. yasr
is supposed to work with FreeBSD.
BRLTTY was recently ported to OpenBSD, so it might
work on FreeBSD also with maybe just minor modifications.
I just didn't have the time yet to set a FreeBSD box to
actually test this.

Hello,
IF you have another computer running an accessible operating system
(Windows, Linux, what ever), you can connect that computer to the one you would like to install
FreeBSD on via a serial cable, and use the accessible computer as a
terminal to perform the installation. At the brief pause as soon as the
kernel floppy begins to boot, type -h and press RETURN - you should get
speech sent at 9600 baud through the first serial port of the
soon-to-be-FreeBSD machine.
Thanks,
Ivan Fetch.
