Hi:
I haven't actually tried to install Linux yet. I am in the process of
learning first. I braught up Red Hat only because from what I am reading
although it is supposed to be for the novice it is one of the harder
versions to install.
Thanks!

many people run away from redhat because they are told that it is
very graphical and so forth. the realistic view is this:
you can install redhat in text mode, and even do this from a dos
computer if desired.
i have installed redhat, and thee is not a trace of x windows on my
system; it loads into the console, i run console programs,
particularly emacs with emacspeak.

If they don't know about install text <cr>, redhat is every bit as bad as
they've been told. There may be more that people installing from dos and
wishing to do so using text mode should know, I don't know I didn't manage
that installation.

I agree. Redhat is one of the best Linux distributions out there. Hats off!

Hi:
I'm sorry I forgot to mention that I have a braille lite 40 which can be
used as a braille N speak. I also have an Artic Transport. Thanks!
I also wanted to know if anyone works with Slackware?
