msn messenger with linux?

msn messenger with linux?

Is there a client we can use for the msn messaging system? A friend of mine who
uses Windows says she has a friend who is also blind and uses msn's messaging
system with
linux to text chat with her. But all the programs i've found depend on the gui.

I use centericq.  it works great.  It does MSN, AIM, Yahoo, ICQ and IRC.

Console installations

I know that RedHat supports console installations.
I am interested to know if there are any other distributions that also
support

RedHat and MySQL development

Hi,
Anyone have C++ development working with RedHat 8 and MySQL 4.0?

I have installed MySQL-server, MySQL-client, MySQL-shared-components,
MySQL-devel and mysql++ rpm's from mysql.com but still I cannt compile a
c++ program.
A lot of the libraries appear to not be found such as mysql.h, and
others.

I observe that RedHat 8 installs gcc 3.2. Is this part of the problem?

It's almost certainly the mysql rpms that are the problem.  The way I
managed finally to get mysql itself working was by installing the binary
package that was stored in a .tar.gz file.  I'm using slackware 9_0
though.  Now if you do it that way, look at
/usr/local/mysql/include/mysql.h or just type locate mysql.h on your
system to see if that header file can be found first.

MySQL server?
The server seems to be fine, works with Perl, etc.
Are you suggesting I install from the .gz files both the MySQL-devel and
mysql++?

Try Centericq.  It works with MSN, AIM, Yahoo, ICQ IRC and Jabber.  I am
currently using it with very few problems.

I use centericq.
It supports all the most popular IM client: ICQ, Jabber, Yahoo, Aim and MSN.
I do not know which Linux distro you are using, I use debian and jost typed
apt-get install centericq.

it supports icq aim yahoo and msn protocols.
the interface is kludgey at best but once you get around that it's
easy enough to handle.
