install-sendmail-6.0 script

I found a perl script that helps users install and configure sendmail and
fetchmail.  It needs at least sendmail 8.9.x to work and both sendmail and
fetchmail ned to be installed.  All the stuff that normally gets done by
hand especially with sendmail is turned into basic questions and answers.
The script is also multilingual too.  donncha@linux.ie wrote it too.

Sendmail is one of few things in Unix that should be gone long time ago.
There are superior replcements for it and people should seriously look
into them. Exim from http://www.exim.org and Postfix. Unless you are
running old system with special additions or modifications and Sendmail
there is no reason to torture yourself with editing silly Sendmail
configuration file or use another obscure format, macros, for it.

That's strange, actually I have postfix installed over here and it's
running.  Guess what else it installed, a sendmail front-end.  I didn't
necessarily want that sendmail front-end, but install-sendmail-6.0 was
able to take advantage of it anyway.  So, the question is, how to build
postfix and have it completely replace sendmail.  On a related question,
why doesn't the antispam keyword work as documented in fetchmail for the
.fetchmailrc file?  man fetchmail has it as -Z | --antispam 554.  Is this

HERE HERE! I use exim here which ships with debian and I've never had to
learna complicated macro language just to configure the damned thing.
exim does everything I want it to do and more.

I assume you are using RedHat distribution, 7.x or later. Postfix is
already there. You just need to configure files under /etc/postfix.
Config files are human readable and editable so you should not have too
many problems. I used postfix only once so far so you better seek help
elsewhere.

My experience with Exim is better. For generic email services you do not
need to do much. It's virtual servers and other special needs when you
have to dig deep into documentation and support groups. Sendmail is
often linked to Exim since it takes the same command line options. Exim
provides much better troubleshooting tools to test the setup so it's
worth checking out.

I took sendmail off my system and linked the "sendmail" command to Exim.
However, unfortunately, on my Slackware system, I had to reinstall the
Sendmail package, as Exim wouldn't accept my incoming email.  In fact, it
wouldn't even run, even after looking at the docs and trying to write a
configuration file.  Actually, from what I've heard, I would rather use
Exim than Sendmail, and would appreciate any help or sample working config
files that can be provided.  Feel free to contact me off list if you can
help.  Thanks.

Here is my exim.conf http://www.linwin.com/sysadmin/exim/my.exim.conf
file. Lines like

recipients_reject_except_senders = partial-dbm;/etc/exim/senders-accept.db : par tial-dbm;/etc/exim/domains-accept.db : partial-dbm;/etc/exim/ip-accept.db

partial-dbm statement means there is an external database file created
with

/usr/local/exim/bin/exim_dbmbuild /etc/exim/senders-accept /etc/exim/senders-accept.db

In this case users-accept contains sender names I accept email from, one
per line. For example: 
someuser@hotmail.com
friend@yahoo.com

I reject all email from hotmail.com, yahoo, and such in general. Magic,
no spam from there. It's a manual way of building a white list of
senders from there but a small price to pay for seeing only about 2
spams a week.

I also check RRs for each server trying to deliver email. That takes out
90% of spam.

That's all to it.
